We coordinate a scientific session on “Ecological Restoration and Phytoremediation” within the 2nd Euskampus-Bordeaux Symposium that will be held next November 26-27th, 2015, in the city of Donostia-San Sebastián (Spain). This symposium is co-organized by the University of Bordeaux and the Euskampus Aggregation (University of the Basque Country, Tecnalia and the Donostia International Physics Centre) within the framework of the Bordeaux-Euskampus Euro-regional Campus of International Excellence. This event aims at contributing to structuring and consolidating collaboration between the abovementioned institutions.
One of the scientific sessions of this Symposium, i.e. Ecological Restoration and Phytoremediation, will be co-coordinated by Dr. Michel Mench from the University of Bordeaux and Dr. Carlos Garbisu from our group. The aim of this session is to establish and consolidate collaborations focusing on the phytomanagement-induced recovery of contaminated/degraded sites, with special emphasis on the study of the biotic interactions for driving the recovery of ecological functions in these sites.
