Merry X-mas to all those interested in the fascinating field of soil microbial ecology!! This new coming year 2016, our group will focus its research on the following topics: (i) the phytomanagement of soils simultaneously contaminated with trace elements and organic compounds; (ii) the combination of nanoremediation and bioremediation (biostimulation and bioaugmentation) of soils contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls; (iii) the beneficial effects of organic farming practices on soil microbial communities as indicators of soil functioning; (iv) the morphological and molecular characterization of arbuscular mycorrhizal communities; and (v) the design and dissemination of soil health cards. Above all, we hope we can do our bit to protect the soil ecosystem. We will certainly try with all our might!!
