Last November 19th, 2015, Carlos Garbisu presented the Agroecosystem Health Cards, developed by our Soil Microbial Ecology Group, in HAZI-Arkaute (Araba), as part of a Workshop organized by ABERE Cooperative (Workshop on Sustainable Management of Manure and Slurry). Apart from presenting the abovementioned Agroecosystem Health Cards, he emphasized the importance of soil microbial communities for the sustainable functioning of agricultural soil. In addition, he presented some results from the field assays carried out by Julen Urra (PhD student in our group) in San Vicente de Arana (Araba) on the effects of organic amendments on soil microbial communities and, in general, soil quality. Finally, he emphasized the difficulties associated with the selection of plant growth-promoting bacteria.
